Torete_ako_sa_yo
Yeah. Alright. oh wait. oh that's a bad thing. maybe democracy isn't the way to go.
philfighter
^^ No. It's still the best way to go. It's attitude change that must be implemented.

But the attitude change must come the lowest level, from within ourselves. Get rid of GMA and another just takes her place. It must be fought at the lowest level, where we cut each other off in traffic thus gummng up the roads for example.
*promo
get rid GMA and replace her with whom?

i don't see any body qualified to run the show as half decent as her.

curruption will never end that how things are run in the political game...RP just sucks in hiding it. RP needs to see a much BIGGER picture.

...............GET REAL PHILIPPINES, GET REAL!

I have this theory. You know how cheating is like a way of life in the schools in the Philippines. My classmates and I always cheat, even though the work was easy enough, and that is detremental to our progress, and hinders us from bettering ourselves. If you are cheating in highschool, where does it stop? Cheating during elections? cheating in your job? cheating during board exams to be a lawyer, architect, engineer, or even a nurse or doctor? Kids who cheat are only cheating themselves. We have to stress the negativity about cheating in our schools.
In japan, china, and other countries their students know that cheating is unthinkable. But for us, its okay. It shouldn't be okay because if a majority of people cheat - thats when the system breaks down e.g. our government.

Here's a more credible source.

Corruption Perception Index from Transparency International.

As you can see from the table, there are several Asian countries more corrupt than the Philippines.
It's still corrupt as fukk though, but as the MOST? Nah... icon_neutral.gif
philfighter
^^ Doesn't matter of we're not the "MOST"..what matters is that there should be virtually ZERO corruption, IMO

Word is short for "The Word" as in "The Word of God". Used to convey the truth, I agree.

There are other places less corrupt than the US. Should I say Singapore?

There's nothing wrong with aiming for perfection as long as it benefits the people biggthumpup.gif

Old news. I can't really do much, but the people in power should really do something about that. The people can do something about it, but it would probably take the rally of the whole population before that's oging to happen. The only good thing I can see form here is that we are not in a bad condition as other countries, so hopefully it would be easier to lessen corruption.

It's a given...

As long as almost every citizen in the Philippines are corrupt, don't expect for our gov't officials to mend their ways.

Is this the reason?

Filipinos consider President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo the most corrupt leader in their country's history — surpassing late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, who allegedly stole billions of dollars during his 20-year rule, a survey said.

The nationwide survey by independent pollster Pulse Asia, released Tuesday, found that 42 percent of Filipinos believed Arroyo is the most corrupt president, compared to 35 percent for Marcos.

The survey of 1,200 people was conducted Oct. 20-31 as the government was embroiled in a bribery scandal involving a national broadband contract with a Chinese company. Arroyo was later forced to cancel the deal.

The Manila-based pollster's survey had a margin or error of 3 percentage points.

Cabinet Secretary Ricardo Saludo blamed the result on critical media coverage, saying the results show "what happens when media publishes accusations and insinuations against the government without bothering to verify or even ask for the basis of charges."

Marcos, ousted in the country's first "people power" revolt in 1986, was accused of stealing billions of dollars (euros) during his rule.

Arroyo's predecessor, Joseph Estrada, who was toppled in a 2001 popular uprising over allegations of corruption, was picked as the third most corrupt leader.

He was convicted of plunder in September but was pardoned by Arroyo about a month later.

Corazon Aquino, who was swept to power after Marcos was ousted, was the least corrupt, according to the survey.

Arroyo has survived four failed power grabs and three impeachment bids since 2001. Coup rumors have since persisted, often related to a series of corruption scandals hounding her government.

The survey asked: "In your opinion, which president is the most corrupt in the history of the Philippines?" and followed with a list of the current and past leaders

as for me..
i wouldn't believe a survey who only had 1,200 people..considering our population is .. shifty.gif

though our situation (i believe) is getting worse we just can't solely blame it on ONE person..
she is not the only person in the gov't and she can't monitor all of them..
(i'm not a pro and i'm not anti either)
we can blame a lot of people within the gov't mind you.. but in the end of the day..what..?
nothing happens.. icon_sad.gif

unless the people itself would have to act for it..
(i'm not suggesting people power rally movements..
it worked the 1st time, but we stopped from there..we played confident afterwards)
the country just got wounded, it doesn't mean that if you could get bullets from her she would recover instantly..
after that..she reopened her wounds, again and again.. so how can she recover..? or will she recover..?

but how can we face the problem, if our problem is our face.. eek.gif
este, if the problem is within us all.. biggrin.gif

it was built this way,,i guess..

Nation against Nation, Kingdom against Kingdom, Brothers Against Brothers.. for
every Nation/Kingdom is not perfect but to one, and that is the Kingdom of God.

hinihintay ko pa rin ang pagbubukang liway-way ng Pilipinas
.. just Like Rizal did..

and no, its not a state of the nation address..though i'd love to but i'm not that of an illusionist biggrin.gif (sometimes)

Corruption in the Philippines is what I would say "norm" if we would be talking about our politicians. I would like to echo my agreement with someone that they just failed to hide it. Either that, or those against certain politicians are good dirt diggers.

Solving this issue will not take immediate effect. It will take years (or worse, decades) given that those in power are enjoying themselves no matter where I look at it.

Philippines is very corrupt. That I'm sure. From Street Cops, Barangay Captains, Mayors, Governors, Judges, Congressmen, Presidents, and such, corruption is entrenched in all levels. The Philippine Government is worse than any mafia.

Even us the common people are actually corrupt...
