Phu Kradueng National Park (Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติภูกระดึง), located in Amphoe Phu Kradueng of the Loei Province, is one of the famous national parks of Thailand, with a high point of 1360 m. Every year tens of thousands of people come to make the climb up this famous mountain. It received the title of a nationally protected forest in the year 1943, and was proclaimed a national park on the 7th of October 1959, the second national park of Thailand after Khao Yai National Park.

MAE MOEI National Park


Mae Moei National Park has been surveyed and declared a national park since 1990, and belongs to National Park Division, Natural Resources Conservation Office, Royal Forest Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. It is named Mae Moei after Moei River which is the border between Thailand and Myanmar, and its west part is almost 50 kilometers stretching north and south. Moei River is a strange river; it goes from south to north. The park is about 185.28 squares kilometers, and in Mae U-su Sub-district, Maesong Sub-district, Thasongyang District, Tak Province.

where are the banana trees and other tropical vegetation?
interesting, i know that some parts of the coast of SEA have coniferous forests, but i didnt think it existed inland too.

Ang Thong (golden basin) National Marine Park, Suratthani

Ang Thong National Marine Park is made up of 42 islands featuring lime stone massifs, tropical rainforests and deserted beaches. This fascinating group of islands, within sight of Koh Samui to the north and west, is geographically different from the other islands in the region. The Ang Thong islands rise from the sea as dramatic walls of rock soaring hundreds of metres high. Besides the many small coves and beautiful beaches, erosion has shaped some interesting formations. Particular features are Mae Ko (a beautiful beach) and Thale Nai (an emerald saltwater lake) both found on Koh Mae Ko. Koh Sam Sao has a coral reef and a huge rock arch as well as a hill providing great views of the surrounding area. There is a considerable amount of wildlife inhabiting the islands including the Asian long tailed monkey (langur), hair nosed otters, pacific reef egrets, white bellied sea eagles, ashy drongos, tortoises, sea turtles, lizards and pythons.The surrounding sea is also the major spawning ground for the short bodied mackerel, a tasty Thai delicacy. Snorkelling, walking and swimming are the most popular attractions of the region. The best time to visit this archipelago is late March to October when visibility is at its best. Get a few friends together and charter a boat so that you can explore the marvels of the 'Golden Basin' in your own time.
