Sometimes it's difficult to decide where to eat... in Bangkok

i've been to the following & it's quite good:

1) Bua Restaurant ("Bua" is "Lotus") - i heard it's more than 10 yrs since they opened. Very cozy ambience, with outdoor section. Live music & good food.

2) Seafood Palace - very near Asoke BTS. Thai traditional performance after 8pm. Seafood is fresh & good. Cozy ambience with very good service.

Please keep the list going... =P

E-saan Foods are LAO Food (mostly)!...what's with you, Trollbuster brother?
Don't you see? I beg you all not to formulate such hatred post! thumbsdown.gif
Can't you just keep it real THAIs for once?

I just told the OP the truth. In Thailand, Thai refer Lao food as "Isan food" not "Lao food".

Lao food for Thai is the Lao food in LAOS biggthumpup.gif

Huay Kwang: The roadside seafood restaurant/stalls serve only normal seafood. not that delicious.

The one i went to was considered "famous", my fren said. Most of the seats are occupied, if u consider this as a yardstick for its "fame".

The "tom yum gai" i ordered only had chicken bones & not much flesh. The asparagus with prawn - prawn not fresh. Fish baked with salt (wat do u call this dish in Thai?) is OK, but not really a pretty sight when served. The fish not properly cleaned. The toilet is in a sorry state. if any of u guys bringing guests/clients, maybe u can find other alternatives.

sometimes tourist are brought to certain seafood restaurants where the taxi driver can get commission. The one in Suam Lum Night Bazaar has one. Last time i went there with taxi, i was brought directly to the restaurant front door & they tried really hard to get me into the restaurant. I didnt go in, went somewhere else.

This restaurant in Bangkok looks interesting. It's called Crokmai Thai Lao (Thai-Lao Tree Restaurant?). Has someone tried their food?
Their customers include Tony Jaa who seemed to enjoy the food there since he said "saeb ee-lee".

Any "special" Thai dish that Thais are proud of? Many people may already know "Tom Yum Goong", but wat other varieties that foreigners should know? the best place that u know of?

Any peculiar stuffs that Thai eats? something exotic? like those Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmer (bizarre food) eats?
