That's fine. I'm not saying that you're not mixed (although I highly doubt it), BUT those students LOOK straight-up Chinese...it is what it is. There's nothing wrong with looking Chinese. Are you ashamed to be Chinese or something? Why are you taking our comments as a bad thing? So you consider it an insult when someone says "They look Chinese"???? Why? Would you rather I said "They look French"?

How funny it is how central Thais call others Thais from these two regions as being Lao:

Siamese Thais definations:
1. Issan (northeast) regions as Lao Issan.
2. Lan Na (north) region as Lao Lan Na.

As for Lao people, we call them as Tai.

Khon Nuer <---2. Lan Na (north) region as Lao Lan Na.

Khon Tai<------souther people, Thai buddist or muslim Malay

I know not all central Thais people think of the Tai Issan and the Tai Lan Na people as being Thais; they refere to them as being (pen)khon Lao.

Isan. Yes some call them Lao Isan some call the Thai Isan. Simply as the language they speak "lao" thats it.
The same as they introduce themselve some said "im lao issan" some said "im Thai isan" whatever they are pround of themselves. Isan food is the most popular regional cuisine in Thailand. i like Isan food. biggthumpup.gif

I Can't agree more, Nhoona biggthumpup.gif

we never call Lanna ppl, Lao Lanna, we simply call them Khon Nuer, Lao Lanna sounds disgusting and incorrect.

I myself never call Isan ppl as Lao Isan or Khon Lao, I call them Khon Isan, never call Thai Isan neither, Thai Isan sound separating them from all Thai ppl. Lao is the "no no" If I call my Isan friends as Lao they'd kick me hahahhaha

Then why did you make a big deal about a couple of members like me who noticed that those students were Chinese?

Common sense, Bug Lao.

If you say those students are Chinese. For Thai ppl, you just gave credit to China, not Thailand.

Thai ppl admire both real Siamese look and Sino look, simply watching Thai media. Hope this help.

Good point. If Lao memebers don't believe us they should go to North Thailand and ask people there.

It is very wrong of you to represent every single central Thais people. icon_redface.gif

Wow, that is very inhuman of you to use the term disgusting to describe other race of people. Now the whole world see how some of the Thais savage wild animal like mentality.

Yes, no matter their blood, if they were born or grew up in Isan, they are Khon Isan and proud to be.
