Luk chup

http://www.thaicuisineonline.com/lukchup.html

Luk chup is a beautiful – yet easy-to-make – Thai dessert which tastes delicious and smells really fragrant. Its unique characteristic lies in the fact that its shape and color imitates those of fruits and vegetables in nature. Luk chup are beautifully decorated and are a well-known favorite among Thais and foreigners alike.

Luk chup contain large amounts of ground beans and provide various kinds of essential amino acids that can act as a substitute for protein derived from animal products. It derives its sweet taste from the sugar and coconut milk used in its preparation. However, the use of coconut milk, which has a nutty flavor, helps to offset the sweetness of the sugar base. Most importantly, this dessert provides the body with energy, carbohydrate and protein.

Thai dessert
Kluay Buat Chi
Bananas in coconut milk

http://bow3.multiply.com/recipes/item/36/36

Description:
Popular Thai Banana Dessert, Kluai Nam Wa Bananas In Coconut Milk
Called 'Kluai Buat Chi' In Thai

This banana dessert is fully vegetarian and is a very common Thai dessert. The main ingredient in the Thai banana dessert is a particular type of bananas and coconut milk. For good taste you will need to use the kluai nam wa type of bananas. The botanical name of these bananas is musa sapientum and the bananas are around 4 to 5 inches long. There is a similar banana dessert made in certain parts of India, but the Indian banana dessert uses milk (not coconut milk) and grated coconut. The bananas in the Indian dessert are the long sweet type of bananas and no cooking or heating is involved. In this section we discuss the Thai banana dessert recipe and provide some useful suggestions for enhancing it's taste.

Som tam

Som tam or Som tum (Thai: ส้มตำ, IPA: [sôm ɗam]) also known as Tam mak hoong (Isan: ตำบักหุ่ง, IPA: ɗam bak huŋ) is a spicy salad made from shredded unripened papaya. Som tam is derived from a traditional dish in Laos called tam mak hoong.

Thai Green Curry Chicken

This Thai Green Curry Chicken recipe features chunks of tender chicken simmered in a homemade green curry sauce along with healthy vegetables (zucchini and red bell pepper). The result is a gourmet-style Thai green curry that is very aromatic and beautiful to serve (great for entertaining!). The key to good green curry is in not only using the right ingredients, but knowing when to add them. Because this curry is made the same as in Thailand (on your stovetop), I recommend using only smaller pieces or cuts of chicken, allowing for faster cooking and the freshest possible taste. ENJOY!
