Well, I hope it is doable and if it really happened then it's the party time to celebrate.

Why would you want Laos and Thailand to merge into one country? I taught Thais have major issue with Lao generally, and how can Laotian and Thais work together since both country been turning there back at each other? I think it will not work with Thailand just because language and tradition is similar it doesn't mean both going to work and plus Thais can't even work with Laotian.

I never had any animosity against Laos or Isaan population before in my life. It was only natural for me to react to certain comments you and your ungrateful American-Laos colleagues have against Thailand.

Well I guess both side do feel offended at some point. But we know majority of the time Thais will just start a problem with Laotian even tho we are a very nice people towards Thais. But in many case the aggressive one are the Thai and has been known to trash Laotian and is still a big issue and you guys can't get over it. You should understand that Laos is the only country who have no major issue with Thailand unlike her other neighbors in the region. And also Laos maybe the only last country for Thais to relate too and work with safely out of the country. But then again both country will never see eyes to eyes in this generation and beyond that year since there is already a big gap between two similar nation.

Lao people also look down on Thais. To us, Thailand is nothing more than a ladyboy-flaming-crime-stricken-prostitute-driven country. That's all Thailand is.

Remember the old Lao proverb

"Listening to Thai people talk is like setting Fire to One's House(Fung Kwum Thai Fie Mai Han Yaa)."

Whatever we say in here is not going to make much difference or impact to the world of reality.

It's not just Lao people who look down on Thais, but the whole world. Trust me, if you ask other nationalities what they think of Thailand, I guarantee you 9 out of 10 will tell you what I'm telling you right now.
