have you caught the yellowpages ad with the two thai restaurants? i thought it was hella funny but the cultural inaccuracy of it did bother me. for example, the background music was the popular song "chopsticks" and the thai lady screaming, was she screaming in thai?

^i don't have it, i saw it on tv

basically two thai restaurants accross the road are fighting each other to gain more customers. they make up new restaurant names like "thai tanic" "bow thai" "thai shop" etc etc and they have themes for each of the name. i thought it was really funny

yes its soughta funny but an insult to thai culture ? they are shouting in Chinese, as well as thai. wouldnt you think that Oz Yellow pages with their big budget would of employed real thai actors/actresses , well i suppose its suppose to be funny and simple.

the actresses spoke (shouted) perfect thai so im positve they were thai. dont remember hearing them speaking chinese though.

On the Disney channel, they did a segment on Chinese New Year, but the music they played was Thai Mahori. Disney should know better, especially with Thailand and Chinese Pavilion at Epcot center.
