Mayu Kitaki
Born
in Ibaragi on 8/24/1982. From an early age, she was fond of soul, motown
and international music (her favorites are Carol King, and Sheryl Crow).
A friend of Mayu introduced her to a music producer who was astonished
by her talent and bright personality. Mayu has a regular MC slot on Fuji
TV's FACTORY8 and BS Asahi's GREAT plus FULL". Mayu also has a regular
column titled "@RAMDOM" on Bar-f-Out and GETON, and frequently
appear on fashion magazines (Though she is not a professional model, her
good taste in fashion respected by young girls.)
Kitaki Mayu has worked with a strong sound production team with various
top producers on her 5 singles and the forthcoming album.
2/19/00: Debut with single PLANET'S TEARS ("Taiyo wo yumemite")
produced by Cosmic Village. Mayu's sweet looks and the music appealed
to young club scene audience.
11/22/00: 2nd single release FLOWER produced by Zentaro Watanabe (hit
maker, known for his solo unit ATAMI, and as a producer for Chara and
hitomi). The coupling song of the single is ALL MY LOVE - produced by
the hottest unit "AKAKAGE" - cute and kitsch tune.
2/15/01: Mayu made a huge break with DO YOU REMEMBER ME? which was used
as the ending theme song of TV drama "kabachitare!". It is a
cover track of 80's pop tune by Yuki Okazaki. The 4th single "Love
and Peace" released on 2001/5/23 is produced by Fukanuma (Plagues)
- the greatest pop tune!
10/24/01: 5th single "Nakanaide" - produced by Masayuki Ishii
Her first album TRICOLOR ("Torikororu") has been released in
December 2001.
